Engr. Prof. Mohammed Ajiya

Engr. Prof. Mohammed Ajiya is the President/CEO of Digital Bridge Institute, the training arm of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC.
He attended Central Primary School Misau and General Murtala Mohammed College, Yola for his primary and secondary schools’ education respectively.
Prof Ajiya holds National Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the famous Kaduna Polytechnic, Bachelor and Master of Engineering degrees in Electrical Engineering from Bayero University, Kano (BUK), and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Optical Communication Engineering from University Putra Malaysia (UPM). He also obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Advance Studies in Academic Practice (CASAP) from Newcastle University, United Kingdom. Prof Ajiya attended Administrative Staff College of Nigeria, ASCON and the Nigerian Institute of Management.
Prof Ajiya is a seasoned academics with several years of experience lecturing and conducting research at Bayero University Kano. He was Head, Department of Electrical Engineering, BUK from 2012 to 2015. He was BUK’s Director of ICT from 2015 to 2019. He has over 100 research-based academic articles published in both citation – indexed and Non-citation indexed journals. He has delivered several keynote speeches at conferences, seminars, and workshops.
Prof. Ajiya was the General Manager/CEO of Arewa Ceramics Limited, Misau from 2000 to 2002. He was Managing Director/CEO of Bauchi Plastics Company from 2002 to 2004.
He is a recipient of many honors and awards including 2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century, Top 100 Global Engineers in the year 2011 and the International Einstein Award for Scientific Achievement by International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England the UK. 
Prof. Ajiya is a proud member of respectable professional institutions including Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), Fellow of the Higher Education Academy of the United Kingdom (FHEA), Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (FNIEEE), Fellow of the Institute of Industrialist and Corporate Administrators of Nigeria (FIICA), Member of the United State of America Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (MIEEE), Member Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers of America, (MSPIE) and Member Optical Society of America (MOSA).
Prof Ajiya married and blessed with children.
